First Time Certified Residential Appraiser Applicants
Individuals must submit two (2) fingerprint cards
Provide proof of education
Transcript of Bachelor’s, Masters, or Doctorate Degree from an accredited college/university
Transcript of an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college/university in a focused field of study
Transcript of completion of 30 semester credit hours within an accredited college/university
Transcript of College Level Examination Program examination equivalent to a minimum of 30 credit hours attained from an accredited college/university
Transcript of any combination of completed semester credit hours and College Level Examination Program examination attained at an accredited college/university
Complete and Pass Residential Market Analysis and the Highest and Best Use (15 hours)
Complete and Pass Residential Appraiser Site Valuation and Cost Approach (15 hours)
Complete and Pass Residential Appraiser Sales Comparison and Income Approach (30 hours)
Complete and Pass Residential Appraiser Report Writing and Case Studies (15 hours)
Complete and Pass Statistics, Modeling, and Finance (15 hours)
Complete and Pass Advanced Residential Applications and Case Studies (15 hours)
Complete and Pass Appraisal Subject Matter Electives (20 hours)
Complete and Pass 15 hour national USPAP course covering the most recent edition of USPAP
Provide a work experience log with 1,500 hours of experience
Pass the National and State Exams for Certified Residential Appraisers (the Licensing Coordinator will email you approval to take the test once you have submitted a complete application including the work experience log and the work log has been reviewed and approved)

Complete and Pass General Appraiser Report Writing and Case Studies (30 hours)

Pass the National and State Exams for Certified General Appraisers (the Licensing Coordinator will email you approval to take the test once you have submitted a complete application including the work experience log and the work log has been reviewed and approved)
Converting from Certified Residential to Certified General
Individuals must submit two (2) fingerprint cards
Provide proof of education (Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree)

Individuals must submit two (2) fingerprint cards
Provide an exhaustive list of all jurisdictions in which you hold or ever held a permit, certificate, or license (certified license histories not required)

Testing Provider Information:
Once the Board has received a completed application and verified the work hours on your work log, the Board will email you to request two (2) appraisals from your work log. Once the work log is reviewed and approved, the Board will provide you with an exam approval email which you can use to schedule your exams.
